A ‘Bling’ and Burger’ flavoured Race Report
A quieter couple of weeks due to the hot weather saw just two honed MM athletes compete in races in search of ‘Bling’ and ‘Burgers’ this weekend.
With the weather turning from oppressive heat to showers and high winds here, Dan Cahill travelled all the way to America just to ensure a run in the sun! Dan clocked up his air miles to race in the San Diego 5K race. Clearly he left his jet pack on as he jettisoned to a 16.26 (7 seconds off his PB) And more importantly - 1st place overall. Finally Minster Milers makes it onto the global scene! I am sure Dan our tourist will now enjoy what the USA has to offer and refuel with Burgers!
Avoiding the long flight, Lissa Milton took on a White star running event as she conquered our neighbouring county on the Dorset Invader ‘Ultra’ Marathon. She tackled almost 29 miles of trail running amongst beautiful scenery and great aid stations. Lissa avoided the showers however the high winds literally blew her hat off!
The reward of almost 7 hours of running was a cracking new medal to add to Lissa’s collection.
Well done Milers!
